Another Earth year draws to a close
A year filled with turmoil and dangerous foes
Status quo ethics no longer we heed
as on lies and half truths we seem eager to feed
Our planet is choking from all our excesses
We are blind and uncaring to heed its distresses
Each day sees more migrants risk life on high seas
Let's pause and reflect on our shared humanity, PLEASE!
