The time has come to say goodbye
Our years together have been good
My sweetest Rose please do not cry
You always did the best you could
Our years together have been good
But now my pain's too much to bear
You always did the best you could
Through thick and thin you have been there
But now my pain's too much to bear
Please take my hand and hold me close
Through thick and thin you have been there
My wife, my lover, my sweet Rose
Please take my hand and hold me close
There's nothing else I wish from you
My wife, my lover, my sweet Rose
There is no more that you can do
There's nothing else I wish from you
Darling I still love you so much
There is no more that you can do
All I need now is your sweet touch
Darling I still love you so much
My sweetest Rose please do not cry
All I need now is your sweet touch
The time has come to say goodbye

A Pantoum Challenge Contest Entry.
A pantoum is written in quatrains (four lines each stanza). The second and fourth lines of each stanza become the exact first and third lines of the next stanza. In the last stanza, the second and fourth lines are the repeat of the third and first lines of the first stanza, bringing the pattern full circle. The rhyme scheme is abab.
