I've decided to live again.
I have dragged this dead carcass around
like a dolphin without a sea
long enough.
Beached, bones bleached.
The saddest day of the year I choose,
but then, that's me:
rebel with mostly invisible causes
and no pod to speak of...
Life is all about starts and pauses,
and somehow that last lingering
was an undertow;
sucked me under
which should have been death by drowning:
surprise!
In my eyes
the best kind,
but the salt stung.
So I've wrung the last vestige of humanity
from God
and I've decided
to
live
one
more
day...
