"There's a place on 'The Western Bay' and a man who dreams all day...
"Charley Edward Matthews was not born 'With a Silver Spoon' in his mouth but elsewhere!'
"The Disease of Muscular Dystrophy is an de-appliataking and making you forever suffering disease...
...
"Dad I want to go out!"
"Charley we over did it yesterday, take a break and watch the ball game with me.'
'The year is 1974 and {since age three...
"Charley has suffered."
'Back then there was little that could be done."
...
"Years passed and Vietnam came and went as Charley was left {as always} was left by the waste-side.
"He dreamed of a day when he could work as a deck hand on a ship someday...
"The Navy was out but he thought...
'Praying would someday make his wish...
"Come true?"
...
"Charley's dad worked that kid and his 'Rubber-Banded Arms and Legs' were better then the normal sufferer."
"He also got a sense of pride and {Like some suffers of disease} he never let in "GET IN THE WAY!"
...
"Years passed again to 2014 and dad and mom had passed."
"But Charley 'Good Old Crippled" Charley would go down {like always} to 'The Western Bay' off of 'Boston's Portsmouth' where the fishing was incredible."
"And on fine day in May...
...
"Hey kid how old are you? Kid?'
"I'm forty"' Charley replied.
"You work?"
"Ah...
"Sometimes in "The Upper-Quarter Maine."
Ah...
"Portsmouth hauling in Cod and fluke!" He yelled excitedly.
...
"We haul and hook-um !' He replies. Look, Two hands called out with stomach virus. You want to make a quick $15,000?"
Ok, I was visiting but I'ill help but we normally...
'Hook-um?" Captain Smith replies."
"And your name kid {smoking on an old pipe}?
"Charley Charley Matthews the damned best hooker south of Maine!'
...
"So...
'With day light fading they left just the three} on 'The Daisy May' onto 'The Western Bay.
"And before they were twenty, nautical, miles away...
'The ship's radio said a storm was forming and no new ships should be released or turn back.'
...
"Ignoring the warning, Captain Smith new he was down to hands and maybe only { day or two}
to hook....
"S, he continued to the fishing grounds after grouper, cod, shark, and marlin."
About three hours later they started baiting about a mile of hooks. The largest would be an eight inch for a marlin if they were lucky!'
...
"Charley made a friend with another hand named Jason Lemming and they took turns hook-em and releasing"
"Jason said his dad died that way being hooked to a watery death in the 80"s.
' The storm took hold as lightning and thunder lite the night sky on fire.
'Hey Jason?'
Jason where are you/
'But Jason got hooked with a marlin hook in the neck and tossed away like a piece of chum!"
...
"Panicking, Charley yelled out for help and [with ho response} He remembered his prayer and gift[that day} from God!"
"Never a moment in the water [as he would surely drown} Charley hesitated a moment...
"And dove into the 'SWIRLING DARKNESS"
"The Boston herald stated on the front Page that Crippled hero saves mans life...
24.
