One day I was walking
in the fresh air,
I heard a soft whistling
and walked over there.
I parted the ferns
and what did I see?
A mad little leprechaun,
scowling at me.
I picked him up gently,
he started to squeal.
I said, "where's your gold?"
That's always the deal.
"Okay, you got me,
he said with a frown,
I'll give you my gold,
but first, put me down"
While I was mulling
his little request.
he broke free and ran,
left me holding his vest.
