There's promise in the dawn's first light
that wakes me with its gentle glow.
The twinkling stars fade from my sight
with whispers of sweet afterglow.
As songbirds sing their sunrise song
there's promise in the dawn's first light.
Above the dew and morning haze
the seagulls and the geese take flight.
Beside me is my heart's delight
to share this genesis most fair.
There's promise in the dawn's first light
with joyful bliss that we both share.
Each day begins a mystery
to solve before day turns to night.
If we obey the Golden Rule
there's promise in the dawn's first light.
