Board Of Education: Somewhere in my childhood there's a scene that I recall I must have been eleven and I thought I knew it all I never liked to study it just got in my way When I brought that paper home there wasn't much to say Three long days I'd be there with no place left to go I knew what I had comin' cause my Daddy told me so The lesson that he taught me is one I won't forget I remember how he told me "I'm not through with you just yet!" Then he applied the board of education to the seat of my learning It didn't take no genius to get a hold of me Been all around this country and I've seen some bridges burn but the board of education is the only way I learn Got a little older and my friends taught me to drive When I had that top down man I really felt alive I could hear the music playin' cause I'd drown out the whole crowd Racin' through the streets of town I'd turn it way up loud I never heard the siren. A cloud of dust was all that I could see The ticket that he wrote me said I was ninety-three When Daddy took my car keys there was no smile upon his face He said "I thought you learned your lesson," then he put me in my place And he applied the board of education to the seat of my learning It didn't take no genius to get a hold of me Been all around this country and I've seen some bridges burn but the board of education is the only way I learn I know you're gonna leave me.
