When your heart beats for not a soul to hear.
...When your eyes swell with the saddest tear.
When all around you just feels so wrong.
...When depression makes sad days so long.
That's when it's time to stop and realize.
...You're not the only one that cries.
The nights of some, who's home, a box.
...Or others, with no shoes or socks.
Imagine having to beg for your dinner?
...I guess that's one way to become thinner.
What about adults, who can't read or write.
...Or the blind, who live each day as night.
When misery creeps in, to conquer your soul.
...And you feel like life has taken its toll.
Try to imagine, the man with no shoes.
...Or the lady, who can't read the news.
Don't forget those, who die from hunger.
...Or the kids killing kids, younger and younger.
..........................................................................
When your heart beats, for not a soul to hear.
...When your eyes swell, with the saddest tear.
Realize how lucky you are to be you.
...And shed that tear for those less fortunate than you.

Author Notes
When I felt like life had taken its toll, I had to stop and realize there are so many less fortunate people than myself. I had it all wrong. My tears were supposed to be for someone else.
