a nostalgic love poem
Holding Hands

I sat to rest
upon
a moonlit shore
beside a girl with shining eyes.
Never
had I felt
like this before
my heart bird hopping
within my
chest.
As I held her hand
my fingers
in their foolish way
caressed hers
and then
I brushed them with my lips.
And to this day
that wondrous feeling
lingers.
