Depression
The sun has lost its way
Where are my tomorrows
Deep down the depths unknown
I linger in anguish
I languish alone
And I am sad for myself
Tired by depression
My mind numbs destiny
And I succumb
So softly to sadness
And I have no energy
To fight the grasp of the beast
Entombed in my heart
The I that I was
Is no longer the me that I am
Nor the me that I am will be
Depression morphs dimension
It purges time
While forgetting fate
Recognition fades
Voiding tomorrow
And the image
We seek
As Godly souls
Disappears to remorse
Youth of forever
Growing in years
Where have you fallen
Down idealic alleys
Down streets of forebode
You vanish
Like raindrops
In measures
Pretold
Friends
So quickly made
Disappear
To the clock
And the thoughts of death
Go from brick to rock
Quick witted jokes
Matted upside inside
Where are you now
Were you painted
Like the face of the morning sun
Or does your mask of beauty hide itself
Beneath a faceless shadow
That no one sees
And no one finds
Where are you now
People smiling
Eyes having fun
Loud gushed laughter
Life
In the sun
Was I really funny
In those golden days
Or was the gushing laughter
That soared from the bellies
Of passers bye
Something I imagined
For surely
Now
I see no humor in what is
Flirtatious girls
With fancy blushed lips
Boosoms bursting towards life
Ripe
With fertility
Awaiting me
Quivering in want
Awaiting me
Yet I am numb
To their touch
Is there no solace
For this barren heart
Oh how I stirred for passion
Oh how I stirred for reason
Oh...
How I gazed blindingly into the future
And imagined
Evenings of tenderness
Where desire and arousal were
The keys to an unlocked
And unexplored universe
That laughter
Her smile
Gone into hiding
Where is she now
Where is the smile
Where is the tease
Where is the promise
Of golden dreams
Visions of hope
Left to blackness
Gone
Like memories
Never to surface
And I am blank
And I am tired
And I am sick
