Texas boys are full of charm,
And one left me so disarmed
I packed up and ran away,
Chasing after western days.
Midst cowtown bars and honkytonks,
I did things twice I shouldn't do once.
In the land of cow manure,
We undertook a whirlwind tour.
I learned to bask in prairie climes;
His culture quickly became mine.
I didn't pause to second guess;
Surrender was what I did best.
He made me hum like a tuning fork;
He blew my mind, and he popped my cork.
This shrew was tamed into submission;
It was the most sublime condition.
But cowboys always ride away;
They live to rope another day.
He left me standing in the grass
To chase behind a bovine lass.
Now when I long to feel his spurs,
Or wish we two were still concurred,
I smile and see his polished boots--
He won me straight out of the chute.
