In the tranquil peace at the end of day,
I, Your humble servant, seeks Your presence,
Asking that You show Yourself in some way,
Your intrinsic nature; holy essence.
Closing my eyes as I begin to pray,
Spirits uniting through coalescence,
Arising to meet my heavenly host,
My one and only God, first and foremost.
So many names have been given to You,
Like Yahweh-Jireh who provides my needs,
In all that You are and all that You do,
The sustenance upon which my soul feeds.
When I've fallen You come to my rescue,
Protector, just, the One who intercedes.
My comfort through sadness, strength through trials,
Walking with me through life's many miles.
Yahweh-Rapha heals both body and soul,
Cures my diseases and forgives my sins.
When this world has taken its weary toll,
And my mind is filled with senseless chagrins,
You reach down and pull me out of that hole,
Relying on you is what always wins.
When battles come I'll remain undeterred,
And armor myself with faith in your word.
El-Olam has no beginning or end,
The Alpha and Omega, first and last.
Eternally timeless, my one true friend,
Who sees all my future, knows all my past.
Whose peace, our understanding does transcend,
Who will still be here once this world has passed.
Whose boundless love encompasses us all,
Who can change our lives, like He did with Paul.
Countless are the ways that You come to me,
But it's Your essence Lord, that has me tried.
Is it something that one can ever see?
Like waves rushing in from a changing tide,
Or a bird in flight soaring high, so free.
Perhaps some sort of feeling deep inside,
Perhaps it's something unfathomable,
A miracle, wonder, a parable.
