As we stand at the disco
My best mate and me
We giggle at the looks
That say we are babes
Due to our outrageous
Bay city roller outfits
My dear mother made
We now hit the dance floor
And with bags laid at feet
Soon we are rocking
To the seventies beat
The music plays loud
So as the hits play
On the dance floor we boogie
To the non stop beats
Marvin Gaye, Abba
And even some Doris Day
Iggy Pop and Tina Turner
Sure do make our day
It does not take long
To attract a stranger
He flirts as he dances with me
He even buys a baby sham
For both my mate and me
He dances wearing big Wedgers
And his teddy boy suit does catch my eye
His hair is well flicked
And brushed right back
He sure could make a heart cry
" Can I walk you home " he asks me
I nod yes because
He has promised to take me
To see the bay city rollers
Though he pulls a face
As my mate shouts at me
" Make sure he gets tickets for 3 "
