It is January the furst taday,
An' a few wurds I wid like tae say,
Here's tae the man at the tope o' the pile,
a man wae phrases wurds an' a lote o' guile.

Aye! There's nane like this genius man.
'Rabbie Burns'. Is that wan.
Wan an oanly poet furst class,
no-wan wull ever, ever, surpass.

Legendary poems like. 'To a Mouse',
anither tae mind. 'To a Louse'.
Oh! My , an', A Red, Red Rose.
a man o' genius in wurds an' prose.

'Address to a Haggis'. Writ in his classic way,
poems galore I'm sure you arrr' au-fait..
An' songs as weel, tae please aw minds,
aboot aw things o' life, Aye! Aw kinds.

'Charlie, He's My Darling'. 'Sweet Afton',
all great songs for you tae sing along.
The all time favourite ---- of mine,
the greatest of all, 'Auld Lang Syne'.

Robert Burns (25 January 1759 - 21 July 1796)

Died early only 37 years auld,
why does such gifts have to be recalled?
If I could change the past fur him this day,
a few mair years for him to have mair say.

Too young fur oany man tae be in that earthly hole,
anither score years, imagine the poems we would behold?
Poet, lyricist, farmer, exciseman, he was at,
aye! Rabbie's .'A Man's A Man for A' That'.

Scotland's favourite son,
nae wonder, when all's said an' done.
A poetic giant fur aw time tae come,
may his memory reek like tha' smoky Lum.

Whit's in a poem anyway?
A few lines writ wae wurds that play.
A thought , a fleeting glimpse in yer ain min's eye,
writ wae happiness or wae a wee sigh.

Noo ah write wae comfort in ma Scottish way,
aboot aw things that ah too love tae say.
Nae subject fur me is taboo,
writin' aboot folks, memories, an' even that proverbial Loo.

Aboot circumstance, age, an' wee wee bairns,
family, friends, love an' carin'.
But whin awe's said an' done ah love tae read,
Rabbie Burns. Aye! Tul' the day am deid.

So this is a few wee wurds tae let yea ken,
Rabbie's Burthday, Ah'l tell yea when.
It's oan the 25th o' January every year.
Aye! His memory this Auld Yin hauds sae dear.

I use the Scottish vernacular in 90% of my poems.

The musical sounds and twists of the Scottish words used famously by 'Robert Burns', gives colour and with a little imagination and patience from the reader, makes for a experience in poetry which differs from the usual.
They say the English language is hard to master. Here all you need as I have mentioned is patience of mind and no preconceived ideas as to what is normal.

I have been told recently my humour is of the bathroom type and very much disliked. However, I won't let the misery of a few others get me down. I do say that humour to me is everyday life and I will never apologize for trying to make people laugh. It costs me nothing so let I be my gift to all who are a wee bit down :)

I was irrevocably betrothed to laughter, the sound of which has always seemed to me to be the most civilized music in the world.
Peter Ustinov (1921 - 2004)

I know that some still cannot get used to the idea of this vernacular. I do apologize, however if I do not use this dialect there would be no point in me writing at all. It is different I know but there is enough beautiful 'English' poems on FanStory that it should not matter. So, as it gives me great deal of pleasure I hope you do not mind me carrying on with this style. Thank you:) :) :): :)
