In Line by mossmouse Soul Writer writing prompt entry |
The line of people advances, some glancing left or right, some not looking at all.
I am ready for mine now, ready to tackle the task of believing without seeing. Jostled by the person behind, she looks sheepish and chagrined at the same time. I ask, "Are You Okay?" "Sure," was the short reply, then she was shuffling forward with me, reading the sign that states, 'Please answer the question quickly and quietly.' I am very close now, a beautiful gnarled oak desk with an amber hue, the gentleman sits behind; whispering one question to each person as they arrive, looking deeply in their eyes and then giving either a shake or a nod. My turn. Question asked. "Yes Sir" is the reply. Gently placed into my hands is a soul, mine breathed to life by the gentleman in white. A life forever claimed, changed and wondrously transformed. Thank you.
