Pania went into the kitchen. Then, decided to wash her hands, as she stared at the landline and cellular phones. And the phone rang. She answered, "Hello. Harley Residence." "Hello Pania. It's your happy ex-husband," a jovial Carl replied. Pania was relieved, "Carl, I was just going to call you about Keith's parents." "You sound upset. In my gut, I knew that it should have been me that called," commented Carl. Pania angered, "I couldn't find the number. And I asked Keith." "So call them," Carl demanded. Pania replied, "Mrs Riley is a widow. I've never spoken to a widow. Isn't that like years of bad luck?" "Pania, talking to a widow will not turn you into one too. I'm healthy as a horse. And we're already divorced," said Carl. "Mr. Riley died in car accident, drunk driving. And he was a mechanic," Pania reported. Carl thought for a minute before he spoke again. Carl was not sure how to feel. He asked, "You've seen him a lot in almost a year. Why didn't you ask him or her about them sooner? Do you know where Brianna met Keith?" "Brianna stopped at the gas station to full the tank before coming home from her final exams. Keith was doing the same thing after work. Brianna liked his security uniform. Keith thought she was the most adorable thing ever. He genuinely liked Brianna. It was all I needed to know to be okay with the relationship," Pania confided in Carl. Carl answered back, "I'm an Accountant..... a well-established CPA for over 25 years. My salary always took care of us. I remarried. But still, I take care of our family and my new wife. I'm respected in our community. A security guard isn't what I want for Brianna. Does the boy have college?" Pania cried, "You're a wonderful man that way. I just never thought about things that way. Now, Keith and Brianna love each other. So, I never asked. They're not doing anything bad." "I need time to think about things. I should at least meet them before doing anything drastic. If I like him, we could see how to better situate him. Otherwise, I don't know. But tell Brianna we invited Keith's mother over for dinner. He's really a good kid to our daughter," Carl asked again? "Keith is very attentive towards Brianna and a well-mannered," added Pania. Carl just didn't know what more to say, "Call Mrs. Riley now. Get the invitation out of the way. And call me back if anything out of the ordinary happens." Pania ended the call with Carl, "I can do that now. Bye."
