Flash Fiction : Pirates and Boys by Begin Again Micro-Fiction contest entry |
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" credits played across the movie screen. "Think I can be a pirate?" A patch covered Tommy's eye. "We'll sail the high seas together, mate," Dad growled. Outside the theater, snow blanketed the ground. "Shiver me timbers; we've a fight on our hands." "Incoming." Splat! Dad was down. "Captain Jack Sparrow, how goes your command?" "Load the ammunition. Fire away." Tommy aimed and let one fly. Missed! He fired again. The enemy returned fire. Icy cold cannonballs ripped through the air amidst squeals of delight. A bikini-clad girl adorned the billboard. It read -- 'Welcome to Florida. Come have fun in the sun.'
