Hugs and kisses
That were given to me.
An ice-cream cone to make it better
After she had patched scrapes and bruises, or bandaged my knee.
She carried me inside for nine months
Tucked safe and secure in her womb.
Kept me fed, dry, and warmly wrapped in a blanket
After I was born.
She loved, motivated, and encouraged
Baked cookies, homemade bread, and gave stern words when needed.
But through all of the years
She was always there for me.
I grew older, moved away from home
There were many times when mom wasn't around.
That would bring sadness
And make me feel alone.
I remember mom's love, her laughter
Such precious memories.
I miss you so very much at times
And wish that you were still here with me.
You gave me love, encouragement, and laughter
Taught me life's values that made me who I am today.
This poem... is for you mom
Until I can be with you again some day.

Author Notes
I lost my mom a few years ago, but she will always be with me, with the love and memories that she gave to me. All of the encouragement and love made me the person that I am today, and I am thankful that she impacted my life the way that she did.
