He strode upon the fields of green and brown, with sinew stretched, and taut he gripped his club. His youth portrayed his skill, but not renown. The crowd observed his presence with a snub. He took his place and stood within the box. The adversary's orb came fast as light. He used his club to hit the orb away. The watchers were amazed with all his might. His greatness grew lo through the many days. The game became his everlasting quest. As others tried to catch him and his ways, he hit the orb more often than the rest.   Writing Prompt Write an ode, preferably rhyming. It can be to anybody and in any spirit. Recognized Author Notes Pete Rose is one of the greatest professional baseball players of all time. I do not believe his total career hits will ever be matched. I created the picture with Copilot.
