As Wesley Wentworth buttoned his brown cardigan, he glanced into the mirror. “You’ll do . . . I guess.” Today was his 80th birthday, and five female friends at the Senior Residence insisted on giving him a party in the Community Room. When he arrived, four women screamed in unison, “Look at your cake!” Arms pointed at a huge three-layer paper cake bedecked in pink ribbon. Suddenly a woman exploded from its top.  Naked! “Melinda,” he gasped. “You’re grinning,” she laughed.  “Happy Birthday!”    Writing Prompt Write a complete story in 80 words or less. The theme is 'Surprise.' You may incorporate this theme into the story any way you wish, but it must somehow relate to the topic.
