Author Notes
It was really difficult to find anything not super schmaltzy depicting a Christmas star that resembles anything like one of the more prominent theories behind it. One of the most popular and realistic scenarios seems to be an alignment with Jupiter, Venus and the star Regalus (the "king" star) on June 17, 2 BC, a symbolism of rebirth that would not have been lost on astronomers of that time, coinciding roughly with the conception or birth of Jesus.
