    he floats on sensuous waves—

INVERTED KATAUTA is an unrhymed 8th-century Japanese poem consisting of 19 syllables with a 5/7/7 pattern, inverted is 7/7/5 syllables pattern. A pair of katauta is called a sedoka. The form was used for poems addressed to a lover like tanka. click here for more info
