God writes His words on ancient walls,
where once He gazed upon His Son.
Though once with Adam walked those halls.
though goals be lost they can be won.
He searches for His wayward child,
though favour's lost and trust's defiled.
Through Christ our Lord He renewed chance
restored man's hope through mercy's dance.

The rispetto is an Italian poetry form. It consists of two stanzas with 8 syllables per line, ( tetrameter) and two different Rhyme schemes, abab
