tempestuous

winds of change

rage around the bend

beneath a crimson sky

of a harrowing dusk

foreboding what is to come

but people are ready

to fight the good fight

♦♦♦♦♦♦

the ominous red sea

knows what’s coming ahead

unsettles the people’s souls

but we are not afraid

to swim against swirling unrest

in the waves of change

we are ready

to face good trouble

♦♦♦♦♦♦

we are not afraid

of hard work

because hard work

is good work

Author Notes
"Fight the good fight" - In Timothy 6:12 Paul says "Fight the good fight of faith"

"Good Trouble" - John Lewis, democratic congressman representing, Georgia; and civil rights activist

"We know what hard work looks like. We like hard work. Hard work is good work." - Kamala Harris

In these times of unrest in our country, we must "fight the good fight" and never give up. If we must get in "good trouble" let it be. Find ways you can be connect to other Americans who feel the way you do, and get involved. In our history, we have faced corrupted presidents and politicians before and we survived we can do it again. We will be alright. Remember we are Americans and there is nothing we can't do if we are willing to do the hard work, and hard work is good work.
