Seeing beauty and beauty at the same time
Through Broken Lenses by Todd Bourgeois

Thousands of mornings you've ventured.
Thousands of footprints you've tread.
Thousands of beauties you've captured,
and housed them all in your head.

Wishes upon wishes unwished.
Thoughts upon thoughts unthought.
The work you began is unfinished.
The vision is unravelled and taut.

The river flowed and the river dried.
It carried away all the tears you cried.
Together all the angels sighed,
and God opened His hands up wide.

The most beautiful things this lifetime sends
can only be seen through a broken lens.

Author Notes
I took a photo of my wife while she photographed the sunrise. This photo inspired this poem. So much so, that I had the poem posted on the photo and framed for her.
