Please dear Lord you were a child, you see the child in Me
you watched them grow and smiled
gently placing them on your knee
you watch them develop and by your words
they become free
until the hand of satan spreads
its hostility
Children have always been vulnerable except
protected by your hand
and the whims of cold hearted adults
they often misunderstand
tough beyond their years
streetwise harsh and poor
it is our hands and actions that
should make them secure
And though there are those whose parental duty
no one can fault
for standing on Your word daily
is worth more than a grain of salt
children are still confused
by the new age way of giving
actions and opinions of the
accepted standard of living.
Oh Lord, that you would still protect
as You promised long ago
so they may sing as we did
Jesus Loves Me the Bible tells me so
that we would see again their happy little smiles
protecting where we can
and mar the schemes of the evil one who tries
to spoil Your Master Plan
