A Teikei-Shi Poem
Fast Food by Rachelle Allen

Rice is very nice
When running with it, think twice
People will chase you
'cause To-Go Meals aren't for you
when you're chubby and age two.

Author Notes
Teikei-shi is a rhymed Japanese poem, a rare form since most Japanese poetry is free verse. The first Chinese poems that appeared in Japan were classified as this type of poetry. The syllable count is 31 syllables or less in 5 lines with a 5-7-5-7-7 form.
