My muse is life with all its highs and lows
And in this life my love for writing grows
I take the things that happen every day
And write them down in some creative way
My muse can be the meal I ate today
Or some event that made me stop and pray
My writing's that which keeps me going strong
Whatever happens be it right or wrong
At times I'll fnd my muse is fast asleep
And sometimes in my dreams my muse will creep
It springs on me without a pen in hand
Or isn't always there when I command
But life is what my muse shall always be
For putting life on paper sets me free.
