a medal on the horizon, their talents screened
representing the country they love most
and the countrymen who later will of them boast
backstabbing and bitterness reported, we are told
all of them have the ability, all went for gold
Happy young people earning an award
the smiles on their faces of one accord
nothing is achieved by doubt or laziness
competition makes you strive with zest
keep going, you are loved in our hearts we enfold
all of you inspire us to go for gold
Disappointment causes a few tears
you may have to wait another four years
all of us have gifts, and if I can be bold
all should follow the example, all should go for gold
