“You’re the silliest boy I know, Danny,” Sally Sommers squealed as the narrow board we both rode swung swiftly upwards. “And the bravest.  You scared?” “No.  This is fun.” During recess, I’d raced to the swing and grabbed the ropes before she could take off.  Facing her, I’d pumped my legs and the swing took off. “Mrs. Thorp thinks you’re reckless.  Hear her shouting?” “Big word,” I grinned as I pumped harder. Sally grinned too.  “I’m the smartest girl in second grade.” “And the cutest.” “You—you really think so?” “Oh, yeah!” “Oh, Danny!  I want to fly with you.” Writing Prompt Take flash fiction to the extreme.
