Better than Dead
There dwells a thing inside of me
That whispers with eternity
It says you're more than flesh and bone.
And yet you are divinely sewn.
Sometimes I wish I could give in to the pain
The rapid beating in my heart, that drives me insane.
My heart sings the struggle is in your head
My soul screams you are better than dead.
There is someone inside my head
That whispers, "I wish you were dead."
It says, "God doesn't love you."
How could he love someone who sins?
You are destined for hell.
No one cares about you.
You should just give in to all the pain.

There is something inside of me.
That screams with destiny.
The holy spirit says, "Christ is within you."
A melody says, "He died so you can live."
I smile and look in the mirror.
I feel the spirit move.
Chanting in the distance,
"He died so you can live!"
"He died so you can live!"
I start to sing.....
My heart sings the struggle is in your head!
My soul screams you are better than dead!

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
