Flash Flood in the Desert by RodG
Six Line Poem writing prompt entry

A snarling cougar it became

that clawed the sand, at sheer cliffs lashed,

at all within its path took aim.

It hurdled rocks as lightning flashed

and roared toward meadows it would maim.

Recently the Arizona desert has been hit by monsoons (heavy rains). These storms often cause flash floods in the mountains. Hikers have to be very careful as unexpected floods come tearing down dry stream beds, washing away everything in their path.
