Imagine their hope      as independence loomed near                    'neath rocket's red glare ...     Author Notes I've tried to imagine what Francis Scott Key felt as he watched the battle over Ft. McHenry, not able to see the outcome, only the battle in progress. This is an ode to all the brave me and women who created this country. It certainly has its problems, but we are still one nation, regardless. Happy Independence Day, all.
