The moment of betrayal
Was complete in its attempt.
The fear made my heart fall
Feebly, I went limp.
You twisted the truth
And let my heart break.
As I hurt, I meant to soothe
I carried guilt for your sake.
I could not know the cost
Of stuffing your betrayal
Carrying guilt, grievous loss
Would haunt me several ages.
Untangling knots at long last
With help from Heavenly Father
I'll heal and leave the past
Restoring rest and laughter.
