We have a Phalaenopsis plant
it sits in pride of place,
and though it boasts a fancy name
the plant is commonplace.
It's common name is 'Orchid'
though a commoner 'tis not,
yet it graces a milliion windowsills
like a loving rainbow blot.
In its natural surroundings
it clings to mother earth,
but man is ever wisdomful
so changed it's financial worth.
It now stands upright looking down
a most uncommon stance,
and gifted to each girl in love
to further her romance.
And so it will and so it should
connotations resonating,
for the Phalaenopsis Orchid
is physical happiness in waiting.
Reflecting a wish for a stable life to a senescent old age,
man will, in truth, his troth to pledge
then claim his anchorage.
It's glorious colour thrown about
to lift the hearts of men,
and women to, should they assent
and give thier men thier due.......2pp
