Hannah Rose helped sort the clothes,
while Mama swept the floor.
Tidying the kitchen up,
much neater than before.
Hannah Rose, with hose in tow,
watered all the flowers.
She pulled the weeds, planted seeds,
happily, for hours.
Hannah Rose helped Mama shop,
for all their picnic fare.
In the park, next to the lake,
soon, meeting Daddy there.
Hannah Rose had worked so hard,
while helping Mama out.
Daddy bought a big surprise,
that made young Hannah shout.
Hannah Rose's eyes grew big,
a kitten, small and sweet...
Had climbed out of a basket,
curled up at Hannah's feet!
Hannah Rose's Daddy said,
that he was very proud,
that Hannah helped her Mama,
and then he laughed out loud.
Hannah giggled, Mama laughed,
the birds had joined in too.
It's good to help around the house,
it's just what families do.
