Did you know that, throughout time,

great people had their woes?

The man who thought up Apple,

he was one of those!

His name, Steve Jobs, now known by all,

originally was fired.

But then he studied hard and learned a lot

 and was re-hired.

Henry Ford,  "the Model-T,"

was not always a star.

He had two failed attempts before

success: a factory car.

The author, JK Rowling,

brought her wizard books to life.

But there were twelve rejections first

and tension filled her life.

Despite her woes and lack of funds,

she never slowed her stride.

And over time, like magic,

readers knew her far and wide.

The vacuum cleaner mogul,

Sir James Dyson is his name,

made thousands of bad prototypes.

One worked and brought him fame.

Then there was Walt Disney,

fired from an artwork job.

Told: “You lack creativity!”

Did that make him sob?

No, it did not! He dug right in

and never once stopped trying.

And that is why he’s Number One;

of that there’s no denying.

Michael Jordan, baller pro,

cut from his high school team.

Afterward, he practiced more

and realized his dream:

Five MVP's, six championships,

Plus, Air Jordans, too.

His extra effort paid off big

As it can for you.

These stars we know, they would not stop

when reaching for their goal.

They understood that their success

was under their control.

Remember them next time frustration

leaves you sad or crying.

Look what we'd have missed out on

if these folks had stopped trying.

Success is this: TRY JUST ONCE MORE.

You'll keep your hope intact.

But if you give up, then you've failed.

And that's a cold, hard fact
