Excellent Buckle Up... A Life Defined by Illness by Videl Sky Your Life in 150 words writing prompt entry

In 2002, my eyes opened, the universe was created…  Jokes aside, my childhood was a normal one. It wasn’t until my middle years that things got tricky. See, I joke about my ailments, because they often seem like they’ve defined my life. So, hello! At 13 I had hip surgeries, caused by Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis, and Mononucleosis. At 14 I was diagnosed with anemia and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. At 15 they found a (small) hole in my heart. 16 was easy, I got HFM disease and an eye ulcer (painful, don’t recommend). Here’s the kicker, at 17 I contracted West Nile Encephalitis which gave root to a whole new host of problems (I even lost most of my childhood and ages 17-19 memories!)! I mean, I still do love to read – and I only like coffee if it’s drowned in cream and sugar, so I must still be me!   Writing Prompt Write the entire story of your life in no more than 150 words. You can be experimental, creative, funny, serious, provocative, reflective, whatever style you best feel represents your life. You must write about your entire life, not just a moment of it. No poetry (too easy). No fiction (YOUR life), although metaphors are acceptable so long as they are directly interpretable to be about your life. You'll be surprised at what your life looks like in 150 words. Author Notes I wish I had more life to write about here, but I'm only 21 and I cannot remember more than 3/4's of it! West Nile is a tricky illness, because it cannot really be treated or cured. The memories I lost from that time will likely not come back, but I still feel connected to my 'other' self from stories my family tell me. Though I did want to write this entry based off information I could remember :)
