Clipped wings  When I confessed  My love to you  I felt my wings  Being clipped  When I confessed  You were the one  I became a  captured dove In a cage of love Dreaming of a day When I could fly away  But a dream of flight Is all it can be Your love has Clipped my wings  It’s love, yes it is But it’s a prison  Of honey and tar Which keep me glued To the love that’s dark  Only in my waking dreams  I will fly away With my clipped wings
