A narcissist takes and takes and feels entitled that others must suffer for their gain. That is not love. That is selfishness. When you're really with someone who loves you, their happiness is your happiness. Narcissists are not happy when someone else is happy, if it means they must deny their needs. This is why narcissists make terrible mothers. They cannot "love" a baby who cannot do anything for them.
Thank you to supergold for letting FanStory authors use this lovely picture "the leaning tower of Pisa" -- a structure that was built on unstable foundations, and yet continued to be built higher and higher......... a testament to how imbalance works for some people.
