Oh, woe is me. Oh, woe is me!
No NFL on TV for me to see.
Season’s over. Playoffs, too.
Oh, my, what am I to do?
I am as lost now as I can be.
Sure, next week is Super Bowl
But, reality, does not console
The loss of both MY teams on
TV – they’re both now long gone
So, for cheering them, I’m in a hole.
Their season’s done. I’m depressed.
What do I do, you might suggest?
Golf, hockey, or basketball
Are just not for me at all…
Baseball? I snore by the 3rd, at best.
Nope, it’s football starting September
Is the sports joy which I remember
Players running hard and crashing
Quarterbacks and their long passing
Without these, my flame’s just ember.
Nor will next August start my season:
Exhibition games simply have no reason
I'd rather watch fresh paint dry
Than watch practice games, so I
Suffer seven months ‘till football’s pleasin’…
