My Past Building Futures yet, i’m adrift In the Binding Shadows Of skyscrapers   Author Notes My analysis, though you can take what you want from this poem: Every choice seems to have a consequence, and the narrator is trapped by her decision to follow a career. As she walks by the tall buildings and sees her reflection in the windows, she recalls a younger version of herself who followed love. Those she has loved before are finding wives and building families while she has built a name for herself. A name that comes with a reputation that can feel like prison.
