Groundwater leaks from yesterday's rain.
Temperatures dropped, and now, it can’t drain.
Ice stalactites seep down from the ground.
Winter has made its way to our town.
Layered with woolens, I’m moving slow.
Bone chilling winds are starting to blow.
I’m not designed to walk in the cold.
I could slip down and lose my foothold.
This shot I’ve taken shows that I've tried.
Now it is time to go back inside.
I’ll thaw my toes in front of the fire.
It’s time to shed my heavy attire.
I’ll post my photo and write a rhyme,
and trust the effort was worth my time.
