She knew he loved octopuses, and amongst the miscellany of figurines on his desk the octopuses took pride of place. The blue and gold glass octopus had shining eyes taking a circumspect glance around the room. What was it planning? It cautiously slid down to the floor, and its fluid movements drew it towards the door. She screamed. Why didn’t he come to her assistance. The blue octopus got bigger and bigger. She fainted when she recognized his eyes. Writing Prompt Write a complete story in 80 words or less. The theme is 'Surprise.' You may incorporate this theme into the story any way you wish, but it must somehow relate to the topic.
