My son called me aside, quietly asking me to add my message to a Christmas card from all of us for his sister. As she was about to return to her country home with her family, he handed her the card. What he didn’t mention was that the card was a musical one and would never stop playing the Christmas tune until the battery went flat. If one tried to dismantle it, a considerable amount of glitter would be released. Writing Prompt Write a complete story in 80 words or less. The theme is 'Surprise.' You may incorporate this theme into the story any way you wish, but it must somehow relate to the topic. Author Notes To belong to my family, one needs a sense of humour! And quick thinking. She took a photo of the messages then threw the card into a nearby rubbish bin!!
