Thanksgiving Turkey by Kristen Rose Ulrich Through the eyes of a child writing prompt entry |
Kristen looked at the Thanksgiving table. She was only five years old. In the center, of the table was a big plump turkey. Kristen said to herself, “I hope the turkey doesn’t mind being eaten. I kind of feel sorry for him.” She said to her Dad Jim, “Dad, do turkeys mind being eaten?” Dad said, “No turkeys like being eaten! All food does! They say, ‘Eat me, eat me!’” Kristen was relieved. She looked at the turkey and said, “Okay turkey, I don’t feel bad for eating you anymore!” Everyone at the table laughed. Jim then said grace, “Bless us all this Thanksgiving, and even bless the turkey!” “Amen!” said the family.
