Jolly Mouse by Bridge Mouse Elephant writing prompt entry |
"What's for dinner, Mum?" asked Jolly.
"Grass stew and cheese souffle", replied her mother. "Yum!" said Jolly. Jolly Mouse had always loved eating grass from the time she was a baby. Jolly spent the first fortnight of her life with an elephant family because of a hospital mix-up. It was there that she picked up her love of grass. From a distance came the sound of trumpeting, and Jolly immediately puckered up her lips to trumpet back but all that came out was a squeak. "Hee-haw,hee-haw" Jolly turned with tears in her eyes to find Danish Donkey laughing at her "You are just a mouse, Jolly", he said. Jolly just ran into her room and shut the door.
