Machine Lullabies

Rows of tiny beds
Filled with little hearts
Fighting just to cope
Words a mother reaps
Learning they can go
While another weeps
Waiting on results
Memories she keeps
Neonatal care
Angels dressed in scrubs
Offering us hope
Through the glass we stare
We'll forever know
Lullabies and prayer
Watching as she sleeps
Humming to the beeps

Let's Put Pen To Paper and write an octameter this week!
Octameter, created by Shelley A. Cephas, is a poem made up of 16 lines divided into two stanzas of 8 lines each.
Each line has a syllable count of 5.
The set rhyme scheme is:
stanza 1: a/b/c/d/e/d/f/d
stanza 2: g/h/c/g/i/g/d/d.
