Sonnet Humor contest entry

I'd like to write a sonnet in the style
of Lizzie, Willy, John, or maybe Percy.
But did those bards attempt to raise a smile?
I doubt it. Now I'm lost. Oh lawks a-mercy!

A starting point's required; let's make it spicy.
A lady in her negligee's the thing.
A naughty voyeur neighbour; now it's dicey.
We've upped the ante, added quite a zing!

Now what if she should spy him? If she does,
will she just leave him ogling in the damp?
Or drop her robe to give her beau a buzz?
Decision made! This 'lady' is a tramp!

They couple in the couplet. Even Lizzie,
Percy, John and Willy would be dizzy!

Author Notes
Sonneteers of note:
Willy = William Shakespeare (or Wordsworth if you prefer)
Lizzie = Elizabeth Barrett Browning
John = John Keats (or Milton)
Percy = Percy Bysshe Shelley

lawks a-mercy - an expression of surprise and consternation, believed to be a corruption of 'Lord, have mercy!'
