I'm shrouded in a cloak of loneliness
My world is dark and dismal
I have no one to share my thoughts and feelings
My one and only best friend is my dog, Buddy
He knows how to bring me happiness
Together we play tug-of-war and fetch
I feel less lonely with him
He makes me smile
though lonely, I'm not depressed
I remain optimistic
I rely on my faith and believe Jesus has a plan for me
In my heart, I know there will be a light peeking
through to lift my spirits
I won't give in to this evil feeling
A change will occur in my future
